Tell you what, if you get to the cash register before me then yes.
[ Because that's how it worked right? ]
Now you'll have the opportunity to meet all the spouses at the wedding. Ahh yes, I remember hearing about that one if only because Abby and Les were obsessed with Elijah.
Does it count if you tell me all your plans ahead of time? ;)
[ But he can't help the grin that is tugging on his mouth. He hasn't minded Nico spoiling him a bit since they started their relationship. He does his best to pay him back or spoil him in return in other ways. ]
That apparently, some people really like the hot lights and spotlight? What with Elijah being a movie star and Archer being a famous poker player and a Mulvaney.
Oh man. Probably! I haven't met him either. Atticus wasn't close to any of us. I only know August because of some help he gave me once. He was graduating with his masters by the time I was actually in high school and I think he's a few years younger than me.
Lord. Wait till he talked to Austin and the other guys about this later!
But no matter how crazy and insane this all seemed, he felt he had to go. Not just because of Nico but somewhere deep inside his gut, which he's long since listened to, it felt right. He needed to be there for some reason.
The rest of the day passed by quickly enough and he was glad he had a change of shirt handy.
He steps into Luciano's a few minutes after 7 and looks around to see if he could see Nico already there.
Nico is sitting at the bar and waiting on Blake. He knew it was kind of crazy. Not inviting Blake to a wedding, though he knows that kind of seems like something as well, but there's the fact that it is the celebrity wedding of the year. Not just because it's a Mulvaney wedding but because Felix Navarro is, from all he's seen, a drama queen that makes Avi look subtle. So it's kind of a big deal.
He stands when he sees Blake come in, raising his hand to wave him down.
"Hi, Handsome," he says, coming over and giving him a tender kiss on the cheek. "We have a table. Come on," he says, taking his hand to lead him to the table.
Blake smiles and walks over to him, pressing a kiss to his cheek and lacing their fingers together. "Hi, babe," he says, letting Nico lead them over to the table.
He liked spending time with the other man. He enjoyed his company and loved how he felt when he was with him. It was one of the first times he could say he could see himself with someone for a long time, not just a short season.
He settles in kittycorner to Blake, wanting to be close to him. Maybe he's crazy given how much he's moved on time and again but he truly does like the idea of being here with Blake and seeing what comes of it. Not just his car and all he's learning. Just about being here with the other man in his life.
"It's been good. Actually looking for a bit of a long term place to stay and settle in for a while."
He hasn't brought it up before, but not seems as good a time as any to bring it up.
He'd been a bit of a player... okay more than a bit of a player himself over the years and yet, Nico was someone that Blake didn't want to let go. There was a small little voice in the back of his head that had been concerned that soon Nico would get bored and take off again to some other exotic location despite them working on a car for him.
To hear him say he's looking for a long-term place... well, it makes Blake slowly grin.
"You are? So you'll still be around so we can finish that car of yours?" Not to mention them.
Nico has never settled down anywhere. Not since he was a child. Once his parents let him travel, he had. With them. With nannies. Then as a teen and beyond, by himself. For the first time he wants to maybe have a place... and then maybe travel not alone as he has in so long.
"Yeah, I'm thinking I've found a place where I'd like to spend some time. Someplace I can come back to when I do travel... and maybe not always do that alone either," he points out, softly taking Blake's hand and running his thumb over the back of his hand.
"Yeah," he asks with a smile, letting him take his hand and squeezing it.
He leans in and presses a kiss to his lips. "I'd like to do some traveling with you when I can," he admits. "And to have you come back when you do travel somewhere."
"I like that our first trip together will be across the country."
"Me too. I'm glad we're starting to travel together." He kisses him tenderly, drawing him in close. "And we can go commercial first class or I can get us a jet. Whatever you want to do," he offers, meaning it as he steals another kiss.
"And tonight what should we do? Just dinner and your place? Maybe go back to the apartment and look at some of the houses I'm looking at?"
Blake smiles and steps in closer to him, stealing another kiss from him before taking a seat at the table. "Both are things I have not done so, honestly... whichever is easiest," he admits with a laugh.
He's never even considered that being an option he'd have in his life.
"Do you want to come over after dinner and show me some of those houses? I would love to see them."
"You know, you keep doing things like that and I'm going to get spoiled," he can't help but tease him with a smile.
He'd never really needed things like that - he had the things he needed in his life and made do with the things he didn't.
"You say that as if it's a bad thing," he says with a grin. "You can stay with me anytime, babe." He liked the way it felt to have Nico's arms around him. Austin and his place wasn't extravagant - not like Nico's hotel room had been - but it was their home until they found something different eventually. If they stayed living together. Would the time come when they weren't?
It was far too soon in any relationship to think about that. He was just glad Austin and Nico got along well enough after that first meeting.
"As if that isn't absolutely the plan," he points out. "I think you could definitely use some spoiling."
And he plans to do exactly that for Blake for as long as he lets him. He just wants to do something for him, to show him how good life can be.
"I'd like that, you know? I can't help but to want to spend as much time with you as I can."
Maybe it's too much but he can't help it. He wants to be there with him and the thought of not being there isn't something he wants to think of as a possible reality.
Heat creeps up into his cheeks. He's always been the one to spoil and do nice things for his family and friends. He's never had anyone who wanted to do the same for him. "I'm still getting used to all that," he admits with a curl of his mouth.
"Good because I want that too," he says and leans over to press a quick kiss to his lips. He likes the way it feels to be in his arms and to wake up next to him in the mornings.
He's never felt that way with anyone else before. Never like this.
"So tell me about this wedding then," he says with a smile.
Nico has every plan of spoiling Blake in every way he can. At this wedding and in general. "Well I'm hoping you have enough time you do get used to it."
And he doesn't want to think about the option where he isn't around to do it for Blake, that they end up apart. He isn't sure he can handle that though.
He lingers in that kiss, only breaking away with a soft sound. It felt so right and he never wanted to let it go.
"It's the wedding for Avi, who runs Gemini Athleticwear, and Felix Navarro who just started his own design firm. At least he headlined at a recent show with a couple of other up and coming designers. From what I've picked up, Felix is the brother of Jericho who married Atticus Mulvaney. I don't really know him. He kind of had a stick up his ass in school and not entirely a favorite of, really, anyone. So the whole Mulvaney clan should be there. I think this is the last wedding but I can't remember if the playboy model married or just picked up that kid who is always with Thomas."
He pauses then, grinning. "Oh and Thomas is a million times hotter in person than he is in pictures, so be prepared for that. Magnetic charm and all."
"Regardless if I do or not, I do know I see us together for a while," he admits, looking at him with a little smile. Especially now that Nico had told him he was looking at places that were more permanent than a fancy hotel or apartment and that he'd invited him to this wedding. This was usually the time before that he'd slide away from relationships - when it got to be too serious - but he didn't want that with Nico.
He wanted all the time he could have with the other man and more.
Blake settles in his chair and listens as Nico describes the Mulvaney family, nodding in understanding. He had seen pictures of Thomas Mulvaney, the family patriarch and he'd always thought he was a very attractive man.
"Good to know," he says with a grin. "So, fashion designers then - I'll need something to wear that doesn't embarrass either of us." Not that he truly thought he'd embarrass Nico but Nico's style leaned more casual, it was also higher end than his own. "I briefly mentioned it to Austin before we left the parlor but tomorrow I'll look at what's going on that weekend and see who I need to move around - if there is anyone."

Well then, I win since I'll pick the place and get my card in before we get there.
[ Because he cheats. ]
What is it with some families, you know? One guy marries Elijah and one Archer. What the hell.

Though, I'm sure there's more to it than that.

Archer is fun to partying with. I'll say that. Always had a good time out with him.
Yeah, I live adjacent to their lives, but not wanting the spotlight.

From what I know, he sounds like a fun one to hang out with. I probably have fun talking shop with Atticus' husband, I hear he runs a garage.
No, you just love living life on the edge. Which is hot.

Yes, yes I do. I'm glad you like it.
no subject
Wow. Yeah, I can see that though.
So how about this. Dinner tonight and you can tell me everything I may need to know for this wedding?
That and I want to see you.
